Please login to Write a ReviewWithout a doubt one of the most beautiful films of the last 20 years. Sam Mendes' greatest film and one of Kevin Spacey's best performances. Such a shame none of the young stars managed to leverage the platform of this movie, the Wes Bentley video scene is one of my favourite cinema moments.
There's so much here, so many subtle theme's that writing anything other than an epic review would mean neglecting much of it. Kevin Spacey has never been better and the whole cast give first rate performances. The script is incredibly witty and delivered flawlessly by the leads.
I though a lot of how much I loved this movie may have been down to my low expectations going in, but years on and watching for the umpteenth time - it still inspires!
A father has a mid life crisis in suburban America and negates as much responsibility as possible. A little bit of a strange feel to this one but your soon engrossed in the lead character. The job application tickles me every time “what are you looking for in this roll?” “the least amount of responsibility as possible” provide some memorable comedy moments. Not for everyone this, but a decent enough watch if you fancy something a little different!!
